Al Jazeera has been granted exlusive access to what is hoped to be the world’s greenest city.
Springing up in the desert of Abu Dhabi, the plan is for Masdar City to provide carbon-free homes for 50,000 people.
Architects have been studying ancient Arab cities to discover how they survived without air conditioning, and are using the same methods to funnel air down to street level from a tall wind tower.
