Sprawl is a major environmental problem in U.S. cities. It creates traffic congestion, air pollution and a loss of green space. Even the host city of the Democratic National Convention (Aug. 25-28) is not immune. Denver, one of the fastest-growing cities in the United States, has suffered from poorly planned growth. But now, as VOA’s Rosanne Skirble reports, city leaders are taking steps to protect the quality of life that brought so many people to the Rocky Mountain West.
